Located in the heart of the Dubai Desert, the Centre tells the story of the incredible conservation work taking place on the dunes surrounding it, told across a range of specially themed rooms designed to encapsulate every element of the Reserve’s wildlife, history and current work.

Upon entering the Visitor Centre’s reception hall, guests are greeted by an expansive open space adorned with captivating visuals. A substantial wall and stretch ceiling hosts a showcase of breathtaking photography, including a centrepiece of the Arabian Oryx in their natural habitat. An interactive kiosk beckons visitors to explore a detailed map of the Reserve, aiding in the discovery of elusive wildlife like the Arabian Fox, enhancing the overall immersive experience.

The Cultural Hall provides a deeper understanding of the DDCR's remarkable journey, from its establishment in 1999 as a trailblazer in protected areas within the UAE to its current status as a successful model for habitat conservation, managed tourism, education, and scientific research. It delves into key milestones and showcases the integral cultural elements intertwined with the UAE's desert heritage, such as falconry, date farming, and camel farming, all of which are integral to the DDCR's rich history.

In the AV hall, a cinematic experience awaits guests in the form of a beautifully produced feature film, providing an insightful overview of the Reserve and its vital role in conservation efforts.

The habitat hall proudly displays the diverse indigenous flora and fauna of the Reserve, tackling any potential misconceptions that visitors may have about the bounty of the desert. Through true-to-life 3D-printed models, holographic displays, interactive kiosks, and push-button devices, visitors can gain a comprehensive understanding of the vibrant ecosystem within the DDCR. Audio melodies of various bird species found inside the Reserve enhance the interactive experience, complemented by real-life specimens on display, catering to avid nature enthusiasts.
